You can easily find further inspiration regarding property sharing by looking at the number of stars and megastars who've shared a place with other stars and megastars at some point in their careers.
Like all things in life, you get out of a share what you collectively put into it. Most of the following relationships seemed to work out but we'll also list a few that didn't(!)
Celebrity Shares Which Worked
Robin Williams and Christopher Reeve shared a place when they both attended the Julliard School of Drama. The bond was so close that when Reeve and his wife passed away, Williams committed himself to looking after their orphaned son, apparently.
The Politician and The Actor
Former Vice President Al Gore roomed across the hall from Tommy Lee Jones when they were both at Harvard University and they've remained very close.
Ben Affleck and Matt Damon roomed together when writing the Oscar-winning film "Good Will Hunting"; they were childhood friends before this.
Michael Douglas and Danny DeVito shared an apartment in New York in the 1960s when they were both cutting their ways into the acting world and Douglas described it as 'a magical time'.
Adam Sandler and Judd Apatow shared a small apartment in the San Fernando Valley and apparently, according to Apatow, sharing with Sandler was like living with 'the comfortable naked guy at the gym'...a kind of positive endorsement(!)
It worked so well for some that they did it twice!
Holly Hunter and Frances McDormand were roommates when at Yale University and rented a place together again in 1982, in the Bronx in New York.
Dustin Hoffman - actor and serial sharer...
Dustin Hoffman not only shared an apartment with Gene Hackman but also with Robert Duvall in 1955. Both shares were in New York.
And the prize for longevity goes to...!
Kiefer Sutherland and Robert Downey Jr. actually shared a Los Angeles apartment for 3 years before their careers skyrocketed.
Other sharing stars include Parker Posey and Sherry Stringfield, Owen Wilson and Wes Anderson, Lindsay Lohan and Raven Symone, and Jude Law and Ewan McGregor.
Those which might have worked better (apparently!)
Chace Crawford and Ed Westwick as well as Jonah Hill and Justin Long all shared but decided to go their separate ways because things were allegedly...er...less than perfect.
And in the case of John Cusack and Jeremy Piven, who shared a Chicago apartment, Piven, when asked about Cusack, apparently offered a meaningful 'no comment' on the matter. We guess you can't win 'em all...!
